PELCO Biowave is a microwave processing system that uses microwaves to improve the penetration depth and speed of chemical fixation. This approach results in greatly improved ultrastructural preservation of organ tissues. An added bonus is that by increasing the speed of fixative penetration into the sample, the time needed for conventional electron microscopy processing can be reduced from several days to several hours.
The unit allows the complete control of power delivered to the specimen. It has built-in chemical extraction, vacuum and a water circulation systems. It is controlled by a touchscreen computer where the most common protocols are saved. The SteadyTemp Pro captures and removes the heat ensuring that the samples are not damaged by increasing temperatures.
