Microscopy Courses

The high rate of arrival of new users has given us a lot of experience in organizing microscopy lectures and workshops. We try to regularly organize courses to make people as independent as possible, giving them theoretical and practical background.

Past courses

EMBO 3D Developmental Imaging course 2018 - EMBO pratical on microscope imaging of live embrios of different animal models and posterior reconstruction and analisys.

ImageJ/Fiji micro-Workshop "Introduction to Image Processing and Analysis" - March 2018. First seminar of a series being organised by the UIC:Advanced Imaging team in 2018 for new users that aim to learn the basics of image analysis and processing, which will cover the basics of ImageJ/Fiji interface and usage, image filtering and enhancement, creating and processing image masks, working with pixels and objects and exploring some techniques for analysis and feature extraction.

ImageJ/Fiji micro-Workshop "From Workflows to Macros" - July 2017. ImageJ macros are scripts/code blocks that perform ImageJ functions automatically and sequencially that can vary in terms of complexity and size. The goal of such a workshop is to help and teach users on how to convert their workflows or image processing and analysis protocols into automated and/or seemless processes using ImageJ functions and plugins.

Neubias 2020 Conference and Training Schools - February 2017. Annual Meeting of BioImage Analysis symposium, Training School for Early Career Life Scientists and Training School for BioImage Analysts.

ImageJ/Fiji micro-Workshop in Image processing and Analysis - January 2017

EMBO 3D Developmental Imaging course 2016 - EMBO pratical on microscope imaging of live embrios of different animal models and posterior reconstruction and analisys.

EMBO 3D Developmental Imaging course 2014 - EMBO pratical on microscope imaging of live embrios of different animal models and posterior reconstruction and analisys.

Izasa and Nikon Introduction to Microscopy Fundamentals Workshop - Starting anew from the previous course, we've partnered with Izasa and Nikon to provide a practical and theoretical workshop on all the fine details of microscopy, intented for regular (and new) users who want to understand the problems and pitfalls that normally beset microscopy projects. It will include an image processing and analysis session.

Introduction to microscopy fundamentals - A practical and theoretical workshop on all the fine details of microscopy, intented for new and regular users who want to complement their education and get the most out of their experiments and images. Includes an image processing and analysis workshop.
